My design was based upon the history of the Marathon Maple Festival Pageant. I decided to base my design on Art Nouveau. I wanted to make my poster have an elegant look, and use natural colors. My main focal point is the photograph. I wanted my poster to have a photograph as the main focal point, and not focus as much on the text. I used a asymmetrical design, and used a font that I feel demonstrates the “graceful-ness” of the pageant. The pageant is all about beauty, grace, and personality and I feel my design demonstrates that with the colors, font, and photograph.
